Rafa Ella (aka Rafaela Gonçalves) hails from the vibrant culture of samba and carnaval in Brazil. She is a trilingual actress fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, and holds a BFA in Performing Arts Acting.
While she thrives on stage and in front of the camera, Rafa Ella developed a passion for behind-the-scenes work during college as well. This interest in writing, directing, filming, and editing led her to pursue an MFA in Producing for Film and TV.
In addition to her acting career, Rafa Ella is also a talented singer, model, dancer, and musician. As a child, she entertained her family with numerous one-woman shows, always expressing her dream of studying and pursuing an acting career in the City of Angels. At just seventeen years old, she made the life-changing decision to move to the United States on her own, but she has always carried a piece of Brazil with her.
Throughout her nearly nine years in California, Rafa Ella has acted in and produced several projects. Some of her notable achievements as an actress include her lead role in the feature film I Watched You Become Death, which has won awards at film festivals and is currently in negotiations for distribution. She also appeared in a commercial for the 2022 World Cup produced by Fox Sports and Volkswagen, a commercial for Nike, and she played a supporting role in the film Blow for Blow, Rigan Machado's directing debut. The film premiered at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood and is available on Amazon Prime (US). Lastly, she is the lead actress and creator behind If the Shoe Fits, a short film that has won her several awards around the world, lectures, and press.
Rafa Ella is currently represented commercially in Los Angeles by Dangerfield Talent Agency.
One of her primary goals is to enhance Brazilian representation in the entertainment industry, particularly in the United States.
